Apple Music today launches its new surround sound, immersive format

Last month we reported on Apple Music's announcement that it was to start offering music in Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos, at no additional cost to subscribers.

That surround sound, immersive format has today arrived, and users can already listen to selected albums in it - including older recordings made in multi-channel that have been remastered for the format - with new tracks being added every day. Furthermore, beginning today Apple Music will also be making its entire catalogue of 75 million tracks available in Lossless Audio.

You can find out how to listen to Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos on Apple Music below - and when you're set up, we've compiled a playlist of recordings by Gramophone Award-winning artists which are already available in the new format, so that you can experience the format for yourself in some of the very finest performances of recent years.
