The multi-Gramophone Award winner discusses her new recording of Bach concertos, sinfonias and trio sonatas with the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin
The violinist Isabelle Faust was named Gramophone's Young Artist back in 1997; since then she has received the Chamber Award in 2012 for her album of Beethoven sonatas for piano and violin (with Alexander Melnikov), and, in 2017, received the Concerto Award which was also named Gramophone's Recording of the Year. Now she releases a collection of Bach's violin concertos with the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin. James Jolly, Gramophone's Editor-in-Chief, caught up with her while she was in London performing with the London Symphony Orchestra and Bernard Haitink.
